McKenna and Lilley's dance sportraits in Corning, New York
Two dance concept shoots from spring 2025, brought together: dance sportraits in Corning, NY, then water and more dramatic lighting at P.H.D, a dance studio in Sayre, PA.
Some of my favorite photos to date came out of this one.
It started as two separate dance concept shoots that I brought together, shot over two days in spring 2025. I had a short list of things I wanted to try, and McKenna and Lilley, who dance with a studio team, were up for all of it.
DAY ONE · CORNING NY
The Corning day
The first of the two shoots ran through Corning. Dance sportraits in the middle of town.
It was the best photoshoot I've ever done!
DAY TWO · SAYRE PA
Water, and more dramatic light
The second shoot was the one I had been sitting on. I wanted to try water shots, and I wanted to push the lighting somewhere more dramatic than a usual session. We shot it at P.H.D, a dance studio in Sayre, PA, and you will know those frames when you hit them in the gallery below.
Both shoots were inspired by @wbcvisions and @jhexposures, two photographers whose work made me want to try this.
The pics were soooo sick and unlike any dance pics I've gotten done before!!
